Reverend James Alberts spoke at CSB as a part of Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Week. He encouraged students to not just listen to conversations about racial justice but to also put these ideas into action.
Entrepreneurial Scholarship Program students travel to Vietnam
Ten Bennies and Johnnies traveled abroad over break to meet with entrepreneurial leaders and immerse themselves in Vietnamese culture. Students in the E-Scholars program learn to design and implement a business venture in a three-semester program.

First senior diversity officer takes role
Sandra Mitchell, former director of equity and inclusion at St. Catherine University, took office on Jan. 2. In her position, Mitchell will work closely with institutional leadership to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion.
Give SJU Day accumulates record-high donation totals
This year's Give SJU Day, held on Nov. 16, collected $768,863 to better the previous record of $729,281 set in 2020. Over 1,400 donors contributed to the cause, surpassing Institutional Advancement's donor goal.
Faculty vote on program recommendations
The Joint Faculty Assembly submitted their first round of resolutions on academic program prioritization (APP) to President Brian Bruess on Nov. 28. Initiated by Provost Richard Ice last year, APP may result in faculty reductions and program closures and modifications.
Petition calls for reproductive freedom club
CSB senior Sydney Richter started the petition to create the club. The club has been denied in the past.
SJU astronaut alumnus returns to campus, talks space station experiences
Mark Vande Hei, a 1989 SJU graduate and astronaut, spoke about his time in space and offered advice to students. Vande Hei broke the American record for longest continuous time in space in April, returning to Earth after 355 days aboard the International Space Station.
