What you need to know about CSB+SJU libraries

Happy fourth week of classes, Bennies and Johnnies! For those new to our campuses, or for those who may need a refresher, here are the top 10 things to know about CSB+SJU Libraries:
Friendly Staff
Our Circulation staff, iTech team and librarians are here to help you learn and thrive. You’ll also find other departments and services in both buildings, including the IT Help Desk, Academic Advising and Career Services at Clemens Library and The Study and The Writing Center at Alcuin Library. Stop in to say “hi!”
Equipment
From cameras, to digital musical instruments, to a ghost hunting kit and phone chargers, we have all kinds of equipment available for check out at each library for FREE. We also have laptops, and you can check out these for the full semester if needed.
Databases
Millions of scholarly articles are available at your fingertips through our databases, free of charge! Browse the different databases we recommend for a class or major by clicking the “Research Guides” button on the Libraries’ homepage.
Study Rooms
Whether with a group or solo, reserve one of our study rooms for a place to meet or study!
Games
Both Libraries have a wide selection of board games, as well as video games and consoles, available for check out, including a Nintendo Switch, PS5, XBOX Series X and more. You’ll also find a jigsaw puzzle shelf at each library, feel free to grab one and return once you have finished it, or donate a puzzle for others to try.
Librarians
Librarians are available for individual research appointments, and can help you find and evaluate sources, check citations and assist you through your research process. To schedule, click the “Research Appointment” button on the Libraries’ homepage.
Newspapers
In partnership with the CSB+SJU Senates, access The Atlantic, The Economist, The New York Times, Minnesota Star Tribune, Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post for FREE.
Clemens Makerspace
Available for both in-class and extracurricular use, the Makerspace houses a sewing machine, laser cutter, vinyl printer, 3D printers, vacuum form, Cricut Maker 3, button maker and more.
Books
In addition to reference and scholarly books, browse Alcuin’s shelves for recent popular titles, and Clemens for our children’s and young adult collections. Not seeing what you’re looking for? Let us know! Or, reserve it through Interlibrary Loan.
