Last Saturday, Nov. 2, St. Cloud Technical & Community College hosted the annual Ptanyétu Powwow at Apollo High School. In partnership with St. Cloud State University’s American Indian Center, CSB+SJU, St. Cloud Area School District and Sartell-St. Stephen ISD 748, the Powwow included Master of Ceremony Wes Jourdain, Head Male and Female Dancers Zach Red Bear and Miskitoos Henning, Mille Lacs Honor Guard, Host Drum Red Tree Singers and Invited Drums Painted Spirit, Dakota Outlaws and Red Willow. Two Grand Entries took place at 1pm & 5pm, respectively. The Director of Physical Plant and Facilities, Russ Klein, was honored with a blanket ceremony for his contribution and help with the White Earth Tribal Preservation Officer Jaime Aresenault and the Initiative for Native Nation Relations in the past years.
