Dear friends and fellow Johnnies,

I am honored by the trust and confidence you have placed in me during last week’s election. The overwhelming positivity that permeated our campus was truly inspiring, and I am thrilled to embark on this journey of leadership alongside every one of you over the coming year. Together, we will navigate the challenges and seize the opportunities that lie ahead with enthusiasm and determination.

As we witness another round of campaigns this week, I eagerly anticipate collaborating with the newly elected representatives who will join us in advocating for the betterment of our university and enriching our college experiences. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to my fellow senators who ran against me; they are individuals of impeccable integrity, intelligence and capability. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors and have no doubt that they will continue to be strong advocates for St. John’s and our remarkable student body.

Furthermore, I extend my congratulations to Vice President-elect Aubrey Sherman and Trustee-elect Charlie Bills. Together, we will devote ourselves to ensuring that this upcoming Senate term is characterized by positivity, progress and inclusivity. As leaders, we are committed to listening, learning and taking decisive action to address the needs and aspirations of our student community.

I am immensely grateful to all who participated in the voting process, whether in support of me or another candidate. Your voices have been heard, and we are eager to serve each and every one of you. Together, let us celebrate this shared commitment to our university and our collective journey as Johnnies. Today is a great day to be a Johnnie.

With warmth, Ben Bugbee
