If you live near Tommy Hall, you have probably seen a golden- brown miniature golden doodle running around greeting people with a smiling face and wagging tail. This is Archie.
Archie is one of the newest members of the St. John’s Abbey family. Fr. Timothy Backes, also known as Fr. Timo, adopted Archie early last summer as an emotional support animal.
During Archie’s first year at SJU, he has made many different friends and even developed quite a few responsibilities. Backes and Archie visit the Abbey Retirement Center several times a week; this usually includes lots of jokes and warm memories.
Archie is a constant at Flynntown’s morning workout sessions at 5:45 a.m. in the morning.
Archie was also featured in first semester’s Talent and Comedy Show held weekly in the McKeown Center for residents of Flynntown.
Archie’s afternoons consist of interaction with faculty members, students and alumni making their “ruff ” day a little better.
