Salutations! In honor of Mom Prom this weekend, we decided to invite our two favorite women to guest review with us, our moms Lisa and Mari.
Both mothers were concerned that we did not have enough time to study while doing these reviews, so they wrote the majority of this week’s article. Mari, similar to Mack, went completely off the rails in her own direction. Because we didn’t pester our mothers enough growing up, we are going to force them to drink the dumpster fire of a beer called De-Lovely.
**Mack’s mother:**
Hello readers of the single greatest column ever. I’m Mari, Mack’s mother. With spring around the corner, a person reflects on memories and experiences we have had in our past. Open windows allow one to hear the robins chirp, the mourning doves coo and people laugh outside.
But actually, the time of year doesn’t really change the appreciation of the cool, relaxing taste of a cold one. Whether you are 21 or you just turned 60, a cold beverage is always a plus. Just remember, Stop@Buzzed.
The name of one refreshing spring-like beverage is “The Greyhound.”
This alcoholic drink is for a person who wants to have something light and simple. The ingredients include a single shot of vodka (personal choice on the brand) with grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed is a plus) served over ice. So delicious.
This drink can be easily prepared in your own apartment and can be served with any appetizer. It’s a great drink to serve guests for that small gathering of close friends, you know, like two or three hundred people. So, when you need to relax and have a cold one, think of having “The Greyhound” and always remember to be responsible like my wonderful son.
**Sam’s mother:**
My name is Lisa Rademacher and I’m the proud mom of Sam, whom I love to pieces! I was honored to be asked to be a guest writer with Mari. I thoroughly enjoy reading about Sam and Mack’s beer/alcohol reviews even though I wonder if and when they make time for studying!
We did our research at La Casita restaurant in Waite Park. If you haven’t been there, I highly recommend it. It reminds me of the Chi Chi’s franchise of old. You students are too young to remember these restaurants, so ask your parents about them. You could get pitchers of margaritas there! And just like my drink of choice at Chi Chi’s almost thirty years ago, we had these at La Casita.
There are over a dozen flavors to choose from, so I went with one I had never had before: pomegranate. It was delicious! Sam said I needed to be more descriptive, so here it goes. The drink was sweet, but not too much so. Just like real pomegranates, the sour flavor was a nice contrast. I had the frozen blended one, so it wasn’t as boozy as on the rocks.
I don’t like alcohol that tastes like alcohol. I’m the Stella wine drinker the boys reference once in a while. I get grief about it, but Sam doesn’t seem to mind helping me finish off my bottles! And unlike some college kids I know, I don’t drink something because of its high alcohol content, but rather for the taste and enjoyment. So, take my advice and drink responsibly!
**Beer Consumers’ Final Thoughts**
Well folks, we at ABC Reviews aren’t entirely sure what our moms are talking about. We make plenty of time for studying and writing this wonderful review this week. If anything, class gets in the way of our “research,” and we should really be focusing on this part of our week more.
Anyways, if you’re a single Bennie that is free on May 20 to listen to the new Zach Bryan album on repeat all day, by golly, do we have a proposition for you. Anyways, back to choring.
