Welcome back to your favorite weekly beer review article in the Variety section of The Record newspaper, run by students, for students.

This week we did what all college students do in the spring semester of their senior year—procrastinate. To elaborate, we did not plan ahead and get drinks, but thankfully we had a variety pack of Alaskan Brewing Co. beverages lying around.

As always, don’t consume alcohol if you’re under 21 and remember to stop at buzzed!

**Icy Bay IPA**

Icy Bay IPA was the first ale we had a run at this week, and it comes in at 6.2% ABV.

The beautifully designed can exhibits a ribbed feature. It feels wonderful on our lips as we get the bitter flavor of this IPA. Besides the ribbed feature, the Icy Bay can design features a surfer hitting a gnarly wave.

**Lo-IPA**

Lo-IPA was next in our metaphorical sights. This IPA was lighter when it comes to color, flavor and alcohol percentage with a 4.5% ABV.

Compared to the other drinks, this one is 10 ply, bud. Much to the benefit of us as the drinkers, this lighter alcohol percentage made it taste like the light beer that us Americans guzzle down, similarly to a Hummer guzzling gas.

The can has the same ribbed feature, but this time the design features a whale about to slap the water as if the water is Grandpa Joe’s face: as hard as is physically possible.

**Alaskan White**

Alaskan White was our third takedown of the night. Coming in at 5.3% ABV, this was Sam’s favorite can.

Also ribbed for the pleasure of the consumer, the can shows off a bear on a mountain with northern lights in the background. Nothing screams American like a bear asserting its dominance on a mountain under the night sky.

As far as the flavor goes, this drink is the happy middle ground between the Icy Bay IPA and Lo-IPA. Not too bitter, but not too sweet.

**Amber Alt-Style Ale**

Last, and certainly not least, is the Amber Alt-Style Ale coming in at 5.3% ABV. The darkest drink of the four was accompanied by the most flavor. The dark red and brown color is actually rather pleasing.

It evokes a sense of disconnectedness and early fall fishing trips. The hook here is the red fishing boat on the side of the can.

This is our favorite this week and should be the one you try if you feel the need to indulge in Alaskan Brewing Co. beverages.

That’s all folks! Hope you enjoyed this weekly addition of ABC Reviews.

Are you a single Bennie? Do you seriously question why Dobby had to be killed off in Harry Potter? Well, the answer to that question is he died for your sins.

If you need a shoulder to cry on, our emails are attached above.

Anyways, back to choring.
