SJUfaith director hired
CSB+SJU welcomes alumnus Logan Edwards back to campus as Director of SJUfaith. He will assume his new position in fall of the 2026-2027 academic year.
Entering the 2026 fall semester, SJUfaith will welcome Logan Edwards as its new Executive Director of SJU Campus Ministry.
This change follows the resignation of previous director Maragaret Nuzzolese Conway, who served in the role for seven years.
During her tenure, Nuzzolese Conway rebranded the ministry to its current name, SJUfaith, developed both the FYRE and Trails retreats and shepherded the student liturgies each weekend.
Edwards is no stranger to the CSB+SJU campuses and may already be a familiar name to many staff and faculty.
A native of Prior Lake, Minnesota, he said he was first drawn to St. John’s after encountering its distinctive spirit during a high school wrestling recruitment visit.
According to Edwards, he found community as an undergraduate in the diverse experiences that campus ife offered him – from his teammates on the wrestling team to his role as a student supervisor in the SJUfaith office and even playing at Praise in the Pub with his now-wife Rianna.
Edwards said his faith grew alongside his involvement on campus.
“I began to see Jesus living in our midst and to grow in my understanding of God through those encounters,” Edwards said via email.
He also credits the Benedictine values of the institution as deeply formative.
“In embracing that [Benedictine] experience during my time as a student, I have been prepared to ‘welcome all as Christ’ in this new role and to learn and lead from those relationships,” Edwards said via email.
Edwards is now in the final stretch of completing his Master of Divinity at the University of Notre Dame, where he has taken on a multitude of ministerial roles including parish work, residential life and administration leadership.
“[This was] all while learning from a world-class theology department and growing in my love for Christ, His people and the Church,” Edwards said via email.
In his new role, Edwards will provide both pastoral leadership and administrative oversight for all aspects of SJU Campus Ministry.
A panel of campus leaders and faith directors led the selection process.
“We were seeking a leader who can serve the distinct mission and identity of St. John’s while also working collaboratively with the College of St. Benedict Campus Ministry,” Associate Provost for Student Success and member of the decision committee Mary Geller said via email.
She said they found that in Edwards.
“His presentation during his interview showed an incredible depth of understanding of Benedictine values as a moral code in living a Christ-like life,” Geller said via email.
Upon his return to Collegeville for his interview, Edwards said he felt the same spirit that first called him to campus – though this time, it carried new meaning.
“I saw the beauty of the place with fresh eyes and felt the Lord calling me back,” Edwards said via email. “Not to revert back to my old self, but to give of myself to the community in a new way.”
Looking ahead, Edwards emphasized the importance of walking alongside students during these formative years of their life, both spiritually and relationally, while continuing to grow in his own vocation as well.
“A wise peer of mine once said, ‘People come to you looking for God, but they only get you,’” Edwards said via email. “So, in being true to my life of discipleship, I can hopefully lead people to discover that God desires a deep relationship with them as well.”
This fall, Edwards will return to Collegeville not as a student, but as a mentor to the very community that helped shape him.
“I am looking forward to embracing this community anew as I bring with me a fresh perspective and a listening heart, prepared to embrace each and every story that walks our campuses,” Edwards said via email. “The Lord knows the world needs good Bennies and Johnnies.”
