Classes moved remote, snow covers campus
After a mild winter, the CSB+SJU community found itself facing a snowstorm that caused administration to move classes on Monday and Tuesday to remote learning.
Nobody’s trusting groundhog Punxsutawney Phil after this Monday and Tuesday. This week went from short to shorter with classes moved to remote learning these days. The campuses received over seven inches of snow according to the National Weather Service.
The switch back to remote learning brought back memories of COVID for the CSB+SJU staff and students. Due to the dangerous conditions, the Link buses were canceled along with many events.
This comes after a very light winter where the St. Cloud area only received 14.4 inches of snow according to Star Tribune. This is in the lower third of past snow recordings.
In the fall of 2021, a new policy was implemented where classes went to Zoom or asynchronous instead of being fully cancelled. Now, students will be able to keep up with learning during school cancellations. The last snow days the schools experienced were February 22 and February 23 of 2023.
To take advantage of the newly fallen snow, many students spent their days building snowmen, dragons and other creatures.
