It only takes seven minutes to get from the Reef to Seton Four years in just seven short minutes When I leave the Reef, I see Mary in front of me So many nights filled with hot bread and study sessions in the lounge As I hang a left for Sexton, the Tundra seems to be calling asking if I’ll play one more intense game of Spikeball In the distance, Bonnie overlooks County Road 159 I remember watching the sun set over the pine trees most evenings Before you know it, I’m down the stairs by the mail center All those struggles trying to remember my P.O. box combo and forgetting to pick up mail and nights waiting in line for the Link over to CSB As I journey farther down the hill, you feel this shift into an upperclassman The Palaestra reminds me of all those football thrillers and scrappy intramural basketball games As I cross the Nicol Bridge, I think of a time before its existence When to-go boxes at the Reef didn’t exist or when we had no idea what Zoom was I reach the end of the bridge and am greeted with McKeown’s presence fellowship around Sunday night dinners and laughs shared over rice and beans I take that last right and walk the final steps to my apartment Four whole years separated only by seven minutes Time really flies when you don’t notice I’ll miss everything that makes up St. John’s but most importantly, I’ll miss this walk through time From my first days in the Quad to my last in Flynntown Until next time, Collegeville.
