As we know, fashion trends are cyclical. We, as a society, recycle our fashion trends usually every decade. Most of the time, we see a little change in a trend as it gains popularity. Our beloved leggings used to be yoga pants, same style, different name. As we see trends come and go, we tend to see them become popular with fast fashion. If you want to know what the next upcoming trend is, stop by any fast fashion store.

So, what should you look forward to in the coming year for fashion trends?

We are expected to see a calmness when it comes to color. Monochromatic looks have been on the horizon and are projected to continue to take over media feeds. This early-2010s look came back in 2023 and will stay current.

Animal Prints: Out of nowhere, there has been a resurgence of this trend from the 1930s. Animal print denim, bags, hats and shoes are slowly becoming staples in many closets.

And lastly, the controversial low-rise pants have returned to the fashion scene. During the final months of 2023, fashion bloggers noticed several media accounts showcasing low-rise pants. This early 2000s trend is either loved by many or detested by others.

Wherever the trend cycle takes us this new year, remember fashion as an outlet of expression.
