Welcome back, Bennies and Johnnies, to a brand-new year!

That means it’s time for all new trends and topics for the year. It would almost be a crime if I didn’t talk about football fashion for the upcoming games. We are already two games in and have won both, but I am not here to talk about sports. I’m here to talk about style at the games and what our wonderful bookstores provide us with. Even if you don’t plan on going to the games, both bookstores on campus offer a wide variety of options to show off your CSB+SJU pride.

At CSB, the striped overalls are the first thing you see while entering the store. I believe they were made for game day and no other occasion, unless someone could prove me wrong. While the bookstore at St. Ben’s is smaller, I think it still has plenty to offer. You can do no wrong from comfortable sweatshirts to the staple Bennie red, even if you want to wear red athletic shorts and make a monochromatic Bennie combo.

Moving on to the SJU bookstore, it has even more to supply your gameday needs. The store has a larger layout with both St. John’s and St. Ben’s merch. Seas of red can be spotted among the Johnnie bread just calling your name.

Even though both bookstores have the types of clothing, it comes down to how you style it.The Minnesota weather is ever-changing and unpredictable. Weather aside, there have been some new trends circling around that I thought would be worthy to note for game day fits.

My favorite trend is cutting the sides of shirts and attaching the back to the front with chains and safety pins. However, biker shorts and my CSB dad sweatshirt serve me well with the ever-changing weather for game days. I’m looking forward to the next home game and the sea of red at each one. Go Johnnies!
