There are some things in life people have accepted as certain. We will all die at some point, we all need to pay taxes and in any situation Odell Beckham Jr. (OBJ) will cause issues.

As of Wednesday Nov. 1, OBJ currently remains unsigned and is a free agent after going unclaimed off waivers. OBJ going unclaimed is no shock after he put out the statement that he would “be a problem” for any struggling team that would want to claim him.

The NFL waiver order acts just like your fantasy football league’s waiver order, with the worst teams having the first crack at claiming any player currently on waivers.

After OBJ publicly issued this warning, it’s no surprise that he went unclaimed and is now free to sign with any team of his choosing.

However, the team signing him will have to take on all the extra baggage he brings with him.

After all, OBJ’s public statement about being a problem wasn’t a warning, it’s simply who he is as a player.

The 29-year-old wide receiver was chosen in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft after being selected by the New York Giants.

The Louisiana State product made an immediate impact on the league, carving up opposing defenses and flashing what’s widely considered the greatest catch in NFL history.

This catch propelled the young player to superstardom and had every kid under the age of 12 buying number 13 jerseys and dyeing their hair bleach blonde. After his first few successful years in the league, OBJ was certified as one of the most talented players at his position. However, scrutiny and bad press overshadowed OBJ’s original success.

The “boat pic” of OBJ and the rest of his wide receivers posing on a boat during a trip to Miami right before their 2017 blowout loss to the Packers started his bad press tour. Since that picture was taken, the Giants have had the worst record in the NFL at 21-54.

On and off the field antics have been an overarching theme of OBJ’s career. Fights on the field, temper tantrums with teammates and leaked videos with unidentified substances have only been a small part of OBJ’s massive baggage.

The latest on this long list of headaches was OBJ forcing his way out of his second NFL organization, the Cleveland Browns.

OBJ’s father, Odell Beckham Sr., posted an 11-minute highlight reel of his son being open and criticizing Browns starting quarterback Baker Mayfield for not being able to get him the ball. After years of headaches and OBJ now forcing his way off the Browns, the many question marks that have surrounded him for years are beginning to form his legacy.

The question now is which team signs OBJ, and is this his last opportunity? There are now reportedly three teams OBJ is eyeing: the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs and the New Orleans Saints.

If these are truly the only teams left on OBJ’s list, then the only one that makes sense is the New Orleans Saints.

The Packers are currently dealing with their own headache in Aaron Rodgers’ “immunized” issue, and the Chiefs already have too many mouths to feed.

Additionally, OBJ isn’t the solution to the Chiefs’ uncharacteristic offensive woes. The Saints, on the other hand, just lost Michael Thomas for the rest of the year due to an ankle set back, so they would make the most sense for the troubled wide receiver.

No matter where he goes, OBJ will have to produce to prove that his legacy is one of a great wide receiver and not just another troubled diva.
