The CSB hockey team has navigated through a challenging season, currently holding a 7-8-2 record with six games left in the regular MIAC season. As they sit in seventh place in the conference standings, the team is gearing up for a crucial final stretch with their eyes set on securing a spot in the MIAC playoffs.

Forward Corrine Brown highlighted some positive aspects of their season so far.

“This season, I feel that as a team we have done a really good job staying committed to the process and working towards our goals,” Brown said. “We also have done a good job working with our systems and adjusting them when necessary. The winter sports season is a long one, so this can be difficult, but I feel that as a team we have done a good job with this.”

Despite facing challenges, Brown emphasized the team’s commitment to their goals and the ability to adapt to evolving situations.

This resilience has been crucial as they approach the final leg of the season.

One area the team is focusing on improving is their offensive output.

“The past couple of weeks, we have been averaging around one goal per game, so going \into the final stretch, we have been working on scoring more goals and getting ‘gritty’ goals so that we can increase this average,” Brown said.

Scoring goals has been a key factor in the team’s strategy to secure wins and improve their standing in the MIAC.

The team understands the importance of finding the back of the net consistently and is putting in the effort to enhance their offensive capabilities.

As the team looks ahead to the remaining six games, their primary goal is clear: making the MIAC playoffs.

“Our team’s main goal for the remainder of this season is to make the MIAC playoffs,” Brown said. “We are in a pinch with the current standings, but if we can get a win from St. Mary’s this weekend, that would be a great start.”

The sense of urgency is evident within the CSB hockey team as they recognize the significance of each upcoming game in their playoff push.

With a shared commitment to their goals and a focus on addressing areas of improvement, the team is determined to finish the season strong and secure a spot in the MIAC playoffs.

The challenges they face serve to fuel their determination to overcome obstacles and achieve success in the final stretch of their season.
