Delta Sigma Pi is planning to host recruitment events Feb. 6 through Feb. 15.

The recruitment events will take place on both CSB and SJU campuses. The first event on Feb. 6 will be boot hockey tournament on the Tundra at SJU. A couple days later on Feb. 8, there is going to be a “meet the brothers” event held at CSB. Additionally, on Feb. 12, there will be an arts and crafts event at CSB. The last event, Feb. 15, will be another “meet the brothers” event.

“It is a little more intense than joining a club, but we are not just a regular club. We have a lot more to offer,” said Isabella Bovee, a DSP brother and member of the DSP executive committee.

Delta Sigma Pi is one of two Greek life organizations on campus. They are a co-ed business fraternity focused on giving students valuable lessons and experience that helps get their foot in the door and prepares them be leaders in their careers.

DSP is currently one of the largest organizations on campus, and they are planning on becoming bigger.

“Currently we have 42 members, we had 20 graduates so there has been 62 members in the last year,” said Wyatt Craft, president of DSP. “We are hoping to gain another 20 to 25 recruits this semester.”

DSP is more than just a club interested in meeting once a week and leaving it at that. DSP offers members experiences and lessons that aim to develop key skills.

“DSP is really about highlighting our brother’s skills and developing them so we can all become better professionals,” Bovee said.

DSP officially started on campus one and half years ago. Before DSP each major lived in its own bubble with regards to clubs. The goal of DSP is to create an organization that enables collaboration between a multitude of majors on campus.

“DSP is a combination of all sorts of different majors and business-minded people. We are bridging the gap between majors,” former DSP president Christian Loeb said.

DSP has big goals for the future. They want to have around 80 to 100 members and they are looking to expand their sponsorships. Currently they are sponsored by two companies, Kensington Bank and BerganKDV, a bank and an accounting firm in the St. Cloud area.

“We are hoping to grow our chapter and show people who we are,” Loeb said. “No matter what area of business you are interested in, [DSP] will find something for you—something that will help you with your future career.”
