Advertising Policies

Advertisement Contract

All advertisers will be required to sign, either a hard copy or an electronic copy, of the "Record Advertising Agreement" form every fiscal year. The agreement is to ensure that you, the advertiser, have read the policies henceforth and that we, The Record, have the most recent contact and mailing information for your business. The Record will not place ads by advertisers who have not signed the agreement form.

Prepayment

All prepayments must be received by 3:00pm 2- days before publication (Friday) for regular issues. Failure to submit your payments by the deadlines will result in automatic cancellation of the advertisement, package, etc. that were covered under the invoice in question. The Record will not make exceptions to the prepayment plan. Special issues may have different receiving dates.

The Record reserves the right to require prepayment for any advertisements, including but not limited to out-of-state advertisements and classifieds.

Payment Information & Past-Due Accounts

At this time, The Record does not accept credit cards of any kind. However, we accept cash, personal checks, cashier's check, budget numbers (if on the CBS/SJU campus) and Purchase Order Form.

Invoices are due 21-days after marked date on the invoice. All past-due balances that have not been paid in full within the 21-day period will result in a hold on any other advertisements and the invoice in question will be assessed a finance charge of 1.5% per week until the balance is paid in full. Advertisers are responsible for paying both the balance plus acquired finance charges. Failure to comply and accounts that repeatedly miss payments can, at the business manager's discretion, be placed on a permanent prepayment plan or prohibited from advertising with The Record for the rest of the fiscal year.
